Frequently Asked Questions

Our website has all the information you need!  To sum up some of our most asked questions, please see the Q&A below: Don't see what you are looking for? Feel free to contact us using the Contact Form button.  We are here to assist you.

Q:  When is recital? Recital will be May 16 and 17, 2026 with dress rehearsals May 13, 14, 15.

A:  Most dancers will not perform on both days. Each class will be given one dress rehearsal slot on one day.

Q:  Is recital required?

A:  No.

Q:  How often do I pay tuition? Tuition is automatically charged to the card on file on the first of each month.

A:  Tuition can be found on the registration page next to each class alongside day and time info.

Q:  Do I get a discount if class is missed due to a holiday?

A:  No. For your convenience, tuition is charged in equal monthly payments September - May regardless of number of meetings in a month. We do not charge less when there is a holiday nor do we charge more for months with 5 classes in a month. Each day of the week meets the same number of times over the course of the season.

Q:   What if my dancer misses a class?

A:  Dancers are welcome to schedule a make up class in another age appropriate class in any style. This can be a fun way to try new dance styles! Additionally, we will offer pop up make up classes over the season that dancers can attend. Refunds are not available for missed classes.

Q:   What happens if my child decides dance class isn't for them?

A:  We do not have a contract and there is not an obligation to dance the whole season. Simply let us know in writing at hello@monarchmovementcompany.com that you wish to drop a class no later than the 23rd of the month and we will stop the tuition charge that goes out on the 1st of the following month.

Q:   Can I watch dance class?

A:  Generally, drop off is preferred to reduce distraction and allow for the student teacher relationships to develop. However, we offer regular parent observation weeks when you are invited into the room to see all that we've been learning. The first week your dancer takes class can be an individual parent observation week!

Q:   How do I get shoes and dance clothes?

A:  We would love it if you would support our small business by shopping at our Butterfly Boutique with a full selection of tights, leotards, dance skirts and shorts, and lyrical shoes, all available in child and adult sizes. We also offer mary-jane style tap shoes, ballet shoes in youth sizes, and jazz shoes in youth sizes. For adult shoe sizes we recommend Gracie's Dance Designs - she will bring shoes to you at the studio!

Q:   How do I know when the studio is closed?

A:  Download our app! From there you can see and subscribe to our shared google calendar and access the studio handbook with a list of dates. Also, follow us on Facebook and Instagram!
